We all face some kind of stress in our lives. Dr. Sonn is going to shine a new light on some of the things that are causing it! He is going to discuss acute stress verse chronic stress of the modern world. And help us to:
• understand our bodies physiological responses to stress
• learn how these stressors affect our homeostasis i.e. Symptoms
• how we use saliva testing of cortisol for appropriate diagnosis
•And certain treatments including: behavior, vitamins, supplements, and adatogens that can help!
Dr. Sonn is a local physician who grew up in Fort Myers. He is duel boarded in family practice and palliative medicine.
After completing his residency in family practice Dr. Sonn worked with a well-established primary care provider in Fort Lauderdale taking care of a large patient base. His work experience brought him to a large number of geriatric patients. As he followed these patients it became clear that they were underrepresented and in need of a dedicated physician.
These experiences paved the way for more education and study which eventually led to his secondary certification in palliative and hospice care.
Dr. Sonn has been working with Hope Healthcare Services since 2008. After more than a decade of caring for patients
who suffered and died from chronic diseases a traditional medical practice using traditional medicines and therapies would not be sufficient for his health and well-being this began yet another journey of learning.
“Integrative medicine and health reaffirms the importance of the relationship between practitioner and patient, focuses on the whole person, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapeutic and lifestyle approaches, healthcare professionals and disciplines to achieve optimal health and healing.”
#1 The above definition and its implications became the basis and focus of Iona Health and Wellness. Please join Dr. Sonn and his staff for your journey into health.
