The 5th Annual Art Walks the Runway fashion show returns to SBDAC! Join us for the signature event of the year! February 25-27, 2016. Thursday evening February 25th- Join us for the Celebration of Fashion opening party, featuring the incredible designs of Italian artist and fashion designer extraordinare Mariapia Malerba who was recently featured in a 5 page spread in Gulfshore magazine. Malerba will be highlighted in a solo runway show titled Metamorphosis, her incredible Haute Couture Recycled Fashion Collection. Malerba is definitely leaving her mark on the fashion world, globally unrivaled on the level of breath-taking detail and stunning imagery combining exquisite artwork with impecable fashion. She has been featured in two previous Art Walks the Runway Shows and dazzled the audiences with her Recycled Couture creations that debuted at the 2014 Art Walks The Runway Show. She has also featured her hand painted and sparkling swarovski crystal ballroom dance gowns. Her unique and artful masterpieces are so beautiful, one would never believe what materials they are made from. Don't miss this incredible opening night celebration of Fashion! Friday night February 26th- Experience the best in local fashion as two amazing boutiques, Swanky Boutique and Co-op California, take to the runway with some of their hottest looks! Saturday night February 27th- Art and Haute Couture Fashion collide, stimulating all of the senses with beautiful elegant and incredible dazzling creations by Couture designers! Featuring Designers: Evgenia Luzhina-Salazar, Sha Ali Ahmad of Ahmad Couture, Designer: Helen Gerro of Gerro Couture and a special Body Art Runway Segment by Elements of Body Art. A native of Moscow, Evgenia Luzhina-Salazar’s vibrant high fashion dress collections blend Russian ferocity and Western cool, with a very theatrical feel. She has participated in many prestigious fashion events including Couture Fashion Week New York, and MANY more. Her designs have won critical acclaim in both local and national newspapers, on radio and television. As a costume designer for the last 30 years, Ms. Luzhina-Salazar has also worked for different theaters in Russia and the USA. New Delhi-born designer, Sha Ali Ahmad is back by popular demand and a runway favorite last year. Ahmad Couture's fashions sparkle under the lights and dazzle audiences. Each piece is hand embroidered in silk fabric and beautiful drapes, using beads, crystals, rhinestones, sequins, silk threads, lurix and glass stones. Popular designer Helen Gerro is returning back this year with her Art Couture Day Glow dresses that light up the night and fascinate audiences. Her couture inspired paintings jumped off her canvases onto her designer fashions. Thus making an original one of a kind hand painted postmodern statement. Elements of Body Art (Adriana Gomez) will, once again, be creating amazing works of body art that will be brought to life using the human form as a canvas. It is exciting to see these unique imaginative works, they are the perfect addition to Art Walking the Runway! Along with trendy and haute couture style fashion, Incredible and stylish hair and makeup to look flawless and edgy is a must! Art Walks the Runway Hair styles will be created by Red Salon & Spa.
