The edgy and fresh programming for the Fort Myers Film Festival has gotten the attention of a global independent film community. Last years opening night films include "Most Likely to Succeed," "When I Walk" and "Alive Inside," each receiving standing ovations, warm commendations from the Fort Myers mayor Randy Henderson and attending community as well as a future in distribution after being featured here.
The Fort Myers Film Festival’s 5th annual festival will be held April 7-10, 2016 at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall, Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, Alliance for the Arts, Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre with parties and dinners at Twisted Vine Bistro, Firestone and other select venues. The Black Tie Red Carpet Gala will be celebrated with excitement and style April 7, 2016 at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall at 7 p.m. The event will begin with the red carpet rolling out, paparazzi clicking and doors opening at 5 p.m. for drinks, mingling & musical entertainment with local and international filmmakers prior to the featured movie. Tickets are $19 for general admission or $99 for VIP, who will enjoy a star studded backstage afterparty with the stars of the opening night's films, with music, dancing, fully-stocked bar and chance to meet with the stars of the evening’s film, filmmakers and event VIP. Then finish off the weeklong celebration Sunday, April 10, 2016 with champagne & dessert awards ceremony which will take place at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre. Tickets are only $15. Champagne and dessert will be shared, short award winning films will be played and toasts will be deservedly pronounced.
