Can't accept US Passport as a form of ID? Really?
Went there for the first time with friends. We heard mix reviews about Tubby's so decided to go check it out. When we stepped in, the bartender asked for our IDs after simple greetings. After checking my ID he asked if it was the correct age... Then when my out-of-town friend take out his passport because his ID has just expired, he took a good 5 minute to find the birthdate then say "Is this a passport?" Then he said he can't accept passport because it has to be a valid government issued ID... That was just pure idiocy. News flash! PASSPORT IS government issued... LOL
Tubby's in Cape Coral - thank goodness.
I almost added a 5th star here. There is certainly nothing wrong with Tubby's and it is the only gay bar in Cape Coral as of this writing. And lucky we are to have it. This is generally a laid back bar, local regulars, fine bartenders, and in season there is activity generally on weekends. Karaoke takes center stage at 9p.m. on Thursdays and Sundays. Yours truly has even taken the opportunity to warble a few notes on occasion. Much more seasonal activity than summer, which is to be expected. Tubby's of Fort Myers changed location several years ago, moving to Cape Coral. For some reason those folds across the river seem to think it inconvenient for a short pleasant drive to the Cape. But then Southwest Florida is rather another story altogether.

Tubby\'s City Hangout is a new bar in Cape Coral from the owners of the former Tubby\'s in Fort Myers. We opened on August 1st with the same staff and ownership as we had over there. Nightly drinks specials and/or entertainment. Pool table. Karaoke twice a week. Friendly staff and great drinks! Weekly drag shows on Saturday Nights.
